Colleen L. Nance
Colleen L. Nance died Friday, March 26, 2010 with family at her side. One of 10 children to Nettie and Frank Leverich, Colleen was born on July 29, 1924 in Baxter Springs, Kansas. She was married to husband Paul Nance for 64 years ago. Colleen and Paul moved to Saudi Arabia in 1953, where he worked for Aramco for 31 years.
Jasper Joiner
Jasper Joiner passed away on Thursday March 25, 2010 after a long battle with Parkinson's disease. Jasper worked in aviation in Dhahran for many years. He leaves his wife of 50 years Virginia Joiner and daughter Elizabeth.
Vasiliki (Billie) Yiannakakis
Vasiliki (Billie) Yiannakakis passed away on Sunday, March 21, 2010. She was born in Andros, Greece in 1932. Billie’s family immigrated to United States after World War II. She was a farm girl in Southern Illinois until she met her husband Manoli. Together they spent 27 years in Saudi Arabia.
Edward Beadle Stecher
Edward Beadle Stecher, 87, of 137 Rhett Court, husband of Frances McCutcheon Stecher, died Sunday, March 14, 2010 at Self Regional Medical Center. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was a son of the late Erskine Peglar and Elizabeth Shank Stecher. He was retired from Aramco and served in the US Army 101st Airborne Division during World War II, where he received three bronze stars and a victory medal.
Richard "Dick" Lee Schuck
Richard "Dick" Lee Schuck born October 19, 1926 in Hazard, Kentucky, passed away at age 83 on March 8, 2010 quietly in his sleep at home in Fillmore, California. Dick struggled with emphysema for 15 years. He masked his pain with a smile and a joke.
Iris Hein
Iris "Mickey" Hein, age 80, of Tomahawk, Wisconsin, passed away March 3, 2010 at her son’s home in Tomahawk. She married John F. Hein in 1952 in Plain, WI; he passed away March 23, 1984. Mickey formerly lived in Long Beach, California, later living in Ras Tanura, Saudi Arabia, and finally settling in Tomahawk in 1962.
Benjamin Alexander “Alec” Branch
Benjamin Alexander “Alec” Branch, 18, of 1415 Wheeler St., Newberry, died Monday, March 1, 2010. Alec was born on December 15, 1991 in Lexington, SC. He was a student at Piedmont Technical College and an aspiring chef who worked at Stephen W’s Downtown Bistro. His grandparents are ExPats Ray and Norma Branch, and his parents are Scott A. Branch and Elisha Kirkland.
James Glass Cooley
James Glass Cooley, 89, who worked as the principal interior designer and buyer for Colony House furniture store, died of congestive heart failure on February 16, 2010 at Hill Haven nursing home in Commerce, Ga.
Linwood "Buddy" Lord
Linwood “Buddy” Lord, 65, died on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2010, from heart disease while on a family vacation in Washington State. Buddy taught Industrial Arts at Najmah Jr. High in RT from 1980-1986.
Peter C. Speers, Jr.
Peter Carter Speers, Jr. was born and spent his childhood in India, (where his parents were missionaries for forty years), and had lived in Austin from 1981 until February 8, 2010, when the angels hauled him off to bliss everlasting. Peter joined the Arabian American Oil Company (Aramco) while still a graduate student at Princeton, and spent nearly 32 years with the company, many of them in Saudi Arabia.
