Larry M. Hamilton Passed Away
Larry M. Hamilton, 69, passed away on Saturday, July 24, 2010, after a long battle with Alzheimer's. Larry was born Nov. 15, 1940, in Alton, Illinois, to Marvin and Eleanor Hamilton. He grew up in Illinois, but had the opportunity as a young man to travel many parts of the world, including Saudi Arabia. He was a graduate of Ras Tanura in 1956. Marvin was Superintendent of Recreation in Ras Tanura, and later in Dhahran, for Saudi Aramco.
Hugh O'Donnell
Hugh O'Donnell, '41 (economics), of Menlo Park, July 24, at 89. A member of Theta Xi, he participated in two Japanese-American Student Conferences held in both countries before World War II.
James Thomas Hanifan
James "Jim" Thomas Hanifan, 61, died July 22, 2010 at his residence in Marble Falls.
Robert Sheldon Oliver
Robert Sheldon Oliver, 90, died on July 18, 2010. Bob was a practicing architect, a professor of architecture at ASU, and a celebrated painter. He earned bachelor's and master's degrees in architecture from the University of California at Berkeley.
Bill Schmidt Passed Away
William A. Schmidt, better known as Bill, passed away on July 15, 2010. Bill worked for Saudi Aramco as Port Captain in Ras Tanura from 1978 to 1988. He is survived by his wife Connie.
Patricia Ann Youngblood
“Patti” Youngblood of Salado died in the Scott & White critical care ICU unit July 14th. She was born in Temple, TX April 13, 1953 to Preston and Hazel Sagebiel Kelly.
Mary Kathleen Fast
Mary Kathleen "Kathy" Fast, 64, of Anacortes, WA, died Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at her home in Anacortes. She was born to Beaulah (Campbell) and Bennie Kelley on May 20, 1946 in West Covina, California. When her father got a job with Aramco Oil Company, she and her family moved to Ras Tanura, Saudi Arabia when she was just four years old and lived there for 10 years. The influence of her living abroad was immense, from her first learning the art of ballet to her extensive travels through Europe.
Sam Whipple Passed Away
Samuel Whipple, 94, of Ashland, Oregon, passed away on Sunday, July 11, 2010, at home. Sam will always be remembered as the first American certified teacher to work for the Arabian American Oil Co. in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia in the mid 1940s. During his 11 years in Saudi Arabia, he set up the base school, became principal of the Ras Tanura school, and helped develop several other satellite schools.

Charles Jesse “CJ” Summers, Jr., 69,of New Castle, VA passed away July 19, 2010 at Lewis-Gale Medical Center in Roanoke from complications of cholangiocarcinoma.
Bill Harlan Passed Away
We are writing to let you know that our husband and father Bill Harlan has died in Aegina, Greece on Monday 05 July 2010 from a heart attack. His funeral will take place in Aegina on Sunday 11 July. We are all in terrible shock and hearing from loved ones is a great source of comfort.
