Joseph "Joe" Alan Strobel died June 14, 2011 in Richmond Texas, under Altus Harbor Hospice Care at the age of 71. Joe was born March 9, 1940, in Great Bend. He married Dot Shaner on June 3, 1961, at St. Rose Catholic Church in Great Bend. In 1971, Joe graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Kansas. His career started in Lawrence and then led him to Texas, Maryland and Saudi Arabia.

Janet Marie Henry Young, 50, of rural Whitman County, Washington, died at her Colfax home on Wednesday night, June 1, 2011, following a battle with pancreatic cancer. Born September 7, 1950 in Tacoma, Washington, she was the daughter of Nancy Jane Harris Henry and Claude Orlin Henry.

Sammy “Sam” Carpenter, 82, of The Woodlands, went to be with the Lord on May 14, 2011. He was born July 20, 1928 in Bolckow, Missouri. Sam attended Northwest Missouri State University and University of Missouri, Columbia. From 1962 to 1981 he taught Chemistry at Northwest Missouri State University. He then went to work for Aramco in Saudi Arabia from 1981 to 1988.
Pamela Stark
Pamela G. Stark, 61, of Denton, Texas passed away May 11, 2011, at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas. She was born on June 4, 1949, in Chicago, IL to James and Marion Virginia Stewart. Pamela was active in Robson Ranch Support Our Troops and was active in the Aggie Moms Club. When she and her husband moved to Saudi Arabia, Pamela was an Event Planner for the Saudi Aramco Employees Association.
Howard R. Turner
Howard R. Turner died at the Massachusetts General Hospital on May 11, 2011 after a brief illness. He was 92 years old. He was a resident of Youville House in Cambridge, MA.

Joseph J. Johnston passed away peacefully on May 8, 2011. Joe was born in Los Angeles, CA, on January 25, 1916. He was raised in Taft, CA. He graduated from UC Berkeley in 1939 with a Petroleum Engineering degree. He found his true calling in the oil industry and was hired by the Aramco oil company. He finished his career as the Secretary of the Corporation and the General Manager of the U.S. offices.

Waheed Ahmad, 71, died on May 5, 2011 at his home in Pakistan. Waheed worked for Arabian/American Oil Company in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia for about 18 years and he took early retirement when he was 50 years in 1990.
