The City of Oshawa is located 52 Km east of Toronto on Lake Ontario. Oshawa is renowned for its rich automotive history as the home of General Motors Canada.
During my visit to Canada, I had an opportunity to visit Parkwood estate. Parkwood is a grand residential estate developed between 1915 and 1940 by Canadian Industrialist Colonel R.S. McLaughlin and his wife.
The entry tickets were priced from
- Adults: $18
- Seniors (55+): $15
- Youth (7-14): $15
- Children 6 and under: Free
for this National Historic Site.
It has 55 rooms, bowling alley, dining rooms, huge library, old crockery and gardens.
This antique wall telephone in the mansion adds beauty and is reminiscent of the golden days:
My grandchildren Hamza and Huzaifa clicked sitting in front of the fountains.
The following Poster below has three details :
- Oshawa and Parkwood are celebrating 100 years and I was lucky to be a part of it.
- A list of production films picturized at Parkwood.
Little Star my grandson Huzaifa with his naughty smile.
During my visit, my wife and I became the members of the Oshawa Senior Community Center
