Legend Engr. Ashraf Habibullah at NED69ers party.
Engr. Ashraf Habibullah is a Civil Engineer and President and CEO of Computers and Structures, Inc. (CSi). He received his Masters in Structural Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley in 1970. He founded Computers and Structures, Inc. in 1975 and has led the development of CSI’s products, including SAP2000 and ETABS, for nearly five decades.
Ashraf Habibullah is a NED69ers and graduated with us in 1969 from the NED Government Engineering College Karachi. NED69ers are spread all over the globe and are all connected with each other on e-mails and WhatsApp, and do meet occasionally in Karachi or other cities of the world just to refresh their sweet old memories.
Engr. Ashraf Habibullah visited Karachi this time for two reasons, firstly as a Keynote Speaker at Habib University Convocation 2023, and secondly, NEDUET had arranged a big homage and celebration of his life and achievements at the NEDIAN Convention 2023, which they named “Tribute to Ashraf Habibullah”.
NED69ers met Ashraf after the NEDUET Convention, and during the meeting, he expressed his desire to meet all his old buddies of NED before he leaves. Ashraf was more than happy to take out time to meet his old friends. The available time was the first half of June 01, 2023.

As we know that Karachi is a very busy city and all the people who live here are also very busy. So we took our NED69ers E-mail/Telephone list and started calling all our friends to join us for the reunion at the “Citizens For Environment” (CFE) office at B - 104 SMCH Society Karachi on Thursday, June 01, 2023 at 1100 Hours.
We managed to contact 25 friends available in Karachi and the attendees were as follows:

The gathering was arranged at the office of “Citizens for Environment” with the cooperation and support of Chairman Engr. Nooruddin Ahmad. Alhumdulillah. The gathering was well organized and everyone enjoyed the lovely songs of the late Mohammad Rafi sung by Ashraf.
He gave a good summation of the true meaning of life and what success is all about. Interpersonal psychology is what we all need to learn. If you have the company of good friends, that is intoxication enough for you. Success comes and goes, but if you are able to hold on to your friends, nothing beats that feeling of elation. It was a time to reflect and remember all old NED friends who are no longer with us.
With these golden words of sage ringing on our years, sadly, the reunion come to an end as it was time for Ashraf to bid farewell to all his friends, till we meet again next time.
