Al Hasa Cookbook - 1976
Main Dish
2 pounds coarsely ground beef
3 cloves garlic
1/2 cup chili power (vary according to taste)
1/2 cup flour
1 tablespoon salt
1 cup tomato puree
2 quarts boiling water
1 tablespoon cumin seeds
Green chilies (to taste)
Sauté meat for about 15 minutes. Add remaining ingredients as listed and simmer for at least 2 hours.
Note: This is very hot chili. Decrease chili powder and/or omit green chilies to make it milder.
Yield: Serves 6
