Recipes from Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, 1966 - 1972
8 cups flour (2 lbs.)
3 tsp. double acting baking powder (Calumet)
4 tsp. salt
1 cup powdered milk (regular or skim)
3/4 cup shortening
Combine all the dry ingredients until well mixed. Cut in the shortening with two knives or a pastry blender. Blend until mixture looks like coarse corn meal. Store covered in refrigerator or freezer. Use as you would "Bisquick".
