Organizers have designed the registration to allow you to register not only for the main activities but also for all of the optional tours and tournaments. The reunion will be held at the Cheyenne Mountain Resort in Colorado Springs. To book your hotel room, visit 2020 Haflah. This four-star hotel has magnificent views of Pikes Peak and the foothills below it during the most beautiful time of year when the aspen trees are turning gold all the way up the mountain. It features an 18-hole golf course, a small boating lake, indoor and outdoor tennis and pickleball courts, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, and a full-service spa. The hotel is completing a full renovation of all rooms and the lobby in early 2020, and the new rooms are stunning.
The reunion officially opens at dinner on Sunday, Sept. 27, but since so many people have signed up to stay Saturday night, we will have an opening reception on Saturday evening, and a full slate of tours and a tennis tournament on Sunday. The reunion includes three dinner/dances with the ones on Sunday and Tuesday outdoors facing the magnificent sunset views of Colorado’s most famous mountain – Pikes Peak. The traditional ASC sponsored gala dinner will be Filet Mignon, with three other choices, and feature a prominent speaker from Saudi Arabia who will deliver a speech on the company and the Saudi people.
Three tours will be provided for you on all three days – Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. The tours are designed to provide the greatest variety of scenery and activity such as: a bus to the top of magnificent Pikes Peak at over 14,000 feet providing one of the most expansive vistas of the eastern plains anywhere - from this vantage point came the inspiration for our country's famous song America, The Beautiful; a trip to Cripple Creek will enable you to explore an authentic 19th-century gold mining town, explore a gold mine deep underground, or enable you to spend a couple of hours gambling in one of the many casinos; The Garden of the Gods tour will take you around arguably the most beautiful natural rock gardens in the world and tour the US Air Force Academy north of Colorado Springs. The famous chapel there is being renovated, but you will be able to see the exterior and the rest of the academy in its gorgeous setting. See 2020 Hafla Tour Descriptions PDF below.
For our active participants, we also have daily activities: a doubles tennis tournament on Sunday, a golf tournament on Monday, and a pickleball game on Tuesday. For the more sedate competitors, there will be a bridge tournament on Monday afternoon. And, for rock hounds, Doug Cook will be leading a geology tour of the Garden of the Gods and other exposed rock formations around Colorado Springs.
Finally, and most importantly, this reunion gives you the opportunity to reconnect with old friends and make new ones in a very special and comfortable environment.
Early registrants will enjoy a $25 discount from the full price, and since more than 160 people have already booked their hotel rooms, we expect that the reunion may sell out at a total of 450 participants.
