The Aramco-developed Maharat Construction Training Center will ready thousands of Saudi candidates for health, safety, and environment jobs.
Maharat Construction Training Center (MCTC) has inaugurated its new one-year Construction Safety Associate Diploma program, which was developed by Aramco and will be offered by Saudi Arabia’s National Training Centers.
The diploma was developed jointly by subject matter experts from Aramco Training and Development’s Local Workforce Development Department (LWDD), Aramco Loss Prevention (LP), and Maharat.
LWDD and LP have developed the Associate Diploma alongside a two-year diploma program. The qualifications are based on current Aramco safety standards and will ready thousands of Saudi candidates for health, safety, and environment jobs, meeting the high demand for Saudi safety officers and technicians in the construction industry.
Mansour S. Al Shehri, Area Projects vice president and chairman of the Maharat Board of Trustees, quoted HRH Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, by saying: “Our real wealth lies in the ambition of our people and the potential of our younger generation. They are our nation’s pride and the architects of our future.”
Faisal A. Al Hajji, Aramco’s senior vice president of Human Resources, and Aali M. Al Zahrani, senior vice president of Safety and Industrial Services, were joined by other members of Aramco management, representatives from the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation, the Colleges of Excellence, the Human Resources Development Fund, and sponsoring contractor companies during the inauguration ceremony for the new Maharat Construction Training Center.
Al Shehri added that the new Associate Diploma program was developed in line with Vision 2030.
Development of the diplomas began when Aramco and the Ministry of Human Resources and Services Development signed a Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation related to occupational health and safety, early in 2022. Training service level agreements were signed at the inauguration event, with contractor companies to enroll the first 200 trainees in the program’s 2023 intakes.
The event was attended by members of Aramco’s management, and representatives from the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation, the Colleges of Excellence, the Human Resources Development Fund, and sponsoring contractor companies.
