Engr. Syed Naushad, youngest son of the late Syed Yousaf Shah (ARAMCO Badge #71533), was nominated as a focal person for “Sustainable Growth of IT Industry in Pakistan.” A memorandum of understanding between the Virtual University of Pakistan and the Pakistan software export board was signed at the Lahore Expo Center here in Lahore, Pakistan in March 2022.
NED69ers gathered once again for a mini-reunion on March 21, 2022. Abdul Majid Adam hosted a dinner at Services Mess, Karachi, in honour of all NED69ers who were available in Karachi as well as a few other friends.
The family celebrated the wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Dr. Ata Ur Rehman. The small gathering, as tradition, dined out in a sophisticated manner with the only guest being Engr. Iqbal Ahmed Khan, the father of Dr. Kiran Ata Ur Rehman and Vice President of Saudi Aramco Ex-Employees Association (SAEEA).
Amidst two years of the COVID-19 pandemic, PCR testing, isolation, face-mask-wearing and social distancing have now become the new way of traveling in 2022. Just like that, we went on our first backpacking trip this year to Turkey for 10 days. Our life's goal is to witness, experience and explore the world, in which case this was the first of our “Adventures of Samia and Taha” that we would like to share.
Saudi Aramco Ex-Employees Association (SAEEA) celebrated its 23rd Reunion on January 16, 2022 at Lasania Restaurant, Karachi. A total of 84 persons attended the function (55 male, 22 female and 7 children). This reunion was held after an interval of two years mainly due to the current epidemic.
Kamran Ahmed Khan and Bushra Khan went on their honeymoon trip to the Northern Areas of Pakistan on the 18th of October 2021. Kamran had planned it beforehand and it was a surprise to Bushra three days before going.
The trip to Moola Chotuk was a spontaneous decision I made to get away from the pollution and noise of the city. The calmness of nature was the perfect way to recharge and relax, especially as I was in the middle of my exams and the pressure was taking a toll on my mental health. Having a large gap in between my exams was the perfect opportunity.
Time flies, right? Can you believe this baby just turned two? Ayra Khan, daughter of Engr. Bilal Ahmed Khan turned two years old on the 12th of October, 2021. Ayra has already begun to recognize letters and numbers and has started forming sentences. Ayra learns something new every day!
On the 19th of September, after the span of 4 years, Anum Aftab, my Khala, visited Pakistan with her husband, Taimur Barlas. Although she had come to Karachi from the USA, for a very short period of 2 days, as her in-laws resided in Lahore, everyone had a blast together.
As the saying goes, "Sudden and unexpected trips are the best ones." And I completely agree. My family and I decided to go to Keenjhar Lake on the 5th of September 2021 with two of my cousins and my Mamu and Mami.

Recently, I called one of my nephews who runs a remote tour business under the name Rovers Pakistan and inquired about any trips he offered to explore the hidden beauty of Baluchistan.

Engr. Syed Naushad Yousaf Shah, born September 3rd, celebrated his birthday with his family. He is the son of Syed Yousaf Shah, Badge # 71533, who worked for Aramco for more than two decades in the Department of Administration. He died in active employment in 1978.
There are two main festivals in Islam: Eid-ul-Fitr, which signifies the completion of the Holy Month of Ramadan and Eid-ul-Adha, the greater Eid, which follows the completion of the annual Hajj pilgrimage, at the time of Qurbani (sacrifice).

On June 18th at The Colony, Lahore's leading performing arts center and creative hub, Engr. Syed Naushad Yousaf Shah and his wife attended the premiere screening of the internationally acclaimed Pakistani short movie, Darya Kay Iss Paar - This Bank of the River. The film was made by a dear friend of Syed's, both alumni of the University of Engineering & Technology, UET, Lahore.
The NED69ers Group graduated in 1969 from the NED Government Engineering College Karachi. Members are spread all over the globe. They maintain a connection with each other through e-mail and meet occasionally in Karachi or other parts of the world just to refresh their sweet old memories.
Bushra Irshad, the niece of Engr. Iqbal Ahmed Khan married Kamran Ahmed Khan, the brother of the son-in-law of IAK on the 26th of March 2021. In Pakistani culture, a few pre-celebrations take place before the actual wedding ceremony. The festivities started with the Engagement Ceremony held at the bridegroom’s place on 15th November 2020.

On the 17th of February 2021, my father got a call from our uncle Adnan Phupa who suggested we join him on his visit to Quetta. My father took a while to answer as he contemplated his busy work schedule and our online school schedule.
