Newly arrived Thomas Joseph Druge is Mrs. Druge's second child, but he's the thousandth baby to born in the Dhahran Health Center South since 1940. The thousandth birth was marked into the record book about 3 p.m. Sunday.

Thomas Joseph Druge arrived July 7 at the Dhahran Health Center South weighing 5 pounds, 11 ounces. He is the one-thousandth baby born to Senior Staff families in the Field since 1940.
The baby's proud parents, Ann and John Druge, have another son, Steven, 4-1/2 years old. The Druges are both natives of Manchester, Conn.
Mr. Druge arrived in Dhahran four years ago as an inspector in the Aviation Department. Mrs. Druge and Steven joined him here 20 months ago. The family resides at House 640-B
Smiling, red-haired Mrs. Druge said: "I've enjoyed my stay in Arabia a great deal. Since we've added a celebrity to the family, I'm sure it will be even more fun."
Dr. Robert Brown, physician, Miss Ferrell Lovett, head nurse, Obstetrical Ward, and Miss Myra Zink, anesthetist, were the team that delivered the 1,000th infant. This covers the births recorded for 16 years.
Aug. 8, 1940, marked the birth of Ronald Kessenger, making him the first child born to a Senior Staff family in the field.
