William "Bill" Daniel Smith
William "Bill" Daniel Smith passed away December 4, 2015 at the age of 78. Bill grew up in Ohio. He graduated from Kingsville High School in 1955 then joined the U.S. Navy. Bill was a long term member of the IBEW Union Local 673. After working 15 years for ARAMCO in Saudi Arabia, he and his wife Carole retired to Port Charlotte, Florida and later moved to Thomasville, Georgia, where they have spent the last eleven years. For those that knew Bill best he will always be remembered for his sense of adventure and his love of the outdoors. From racing sailboats on Lake Erie and in Sarasota, to staking mineral claims in Alaska, to hiking the 2170 mile Appalachian Trail alone at age 65, to having the nicest yard in the neighborhood, and always a "project" in the works; he was never very good at sitting around. Bill is survived by his wife of 34 years, Carole, his children; Judy Smith, Joel Smith, West Smith (Kathi), Babs Barton (Scott), Amy Wolodko (Darren), nephew Sandy Bennick (Bruce), his grandchildren; Shawna, Jessica, Randell, Jordan, Karli, Sarah, Brooke, Hayden, Cayce, and Brendan, great-grandchildren; Kyla, Brian, and Rowan, brother Roger Smith (Libbey), sister Susan Smith, in-laws; Paul, Ginger and Mark Weber, and Mary Radabaugh, and his beloved dogs; Buddy and Charlie. Bill will be buried in Apalachicola, Florida.
