Sarah Curran
Sarah "Sally" Curran joined the love of her life, her husband of 40+ years, Thomas "Tom" Curran on Sunday, January 30, 2022. Sally was born in Shenandoah, Pennsylvania. She earned a nursing degree and took a nursing position with Aramco in Saudi Arabia. It was there that she met Tom. The couple fell in love quickly and after only a few months of dating, Tom proposed and they were wed in 1961, and shortly after started a family. She was a stay-at-home mom but also assisted with Tom's businesses – keeping books and running a rental car company. When she and Tom became empty-nesters, they traveled and sailed. She returned to nursing at The Woman's Hospital of Texas and upon retiring, she became active in her community, volunteering at the Art Alliance and St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. She was outgoing, friendly, loved having fun and entertaining friends. She liked to boogie/dance. She was always happy to lend an ear or a helping hand to anyone that needed it. In her later years, she suffered from Dementia.
Sally is survived by her children Laura Curran (Bob Gregg), Peter Curran, Pam Wichmann (Eric), her grandchildren Travis Curran, Justin Wichmann, Lauren Curran, and her sister Ann (Cook) DeBello. She was preceded by her parents, Henry and Mary Cook, sister Mary (Cook) McWilliams, and brother Harry "Hap" Cook. She will be laid to rest next to Tom in a private ceremony at Mt Olivet in Dickinson, Texas. She will be missed by many!
