Sam Whipple Passed Away

Samuel Whipple, 94, of Ashland, Oregon, passed away on Sunday, July 11, 2010, at home.
Sam will always be remembered as the first American certified teacher to work for the Arabian American Oil Co. in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia in the mid 1940s. During his 11 years in Saudi Arabia, he set up the base school, became principal of the Ras Tanura school, and helped develop several other satellite schools.
