Roy R Wilson
Roy R Wilson passed away in Sun City, AZ on April 12, 2007 at the age of 75. Roy lived in Dhahran with his wife Thelma for 11 years from 1980-1991. Roy worked in the ARAMCO schools as a Librarian and a 5th grade teacher. He touched so many lives with his love of books, travel, crafts and life's adventures.
A former 5th grade student sent the family an e-mail remembering Roy: "I was Mr. Wilson's 5th grade student in 1989. Mr. Wilson was such a wonderful teacher and a great person. He was so encouraging and attentive to his students' needs. It is because of him that I discovered my love for acting. One project I'll remember that year was our study of Colonial America. Mr. Wilson handed out copies of recipes people ate during the colonial period. I still have them. And every time I look at them I remember him, At the end of the year, Mr. Wilson gave each of us a book to read and remember him by. I still have the book he gave me, and perhaps if I have children, I'll be reading it to them. Mr. Wilson's beautiful influence will continue for generations to come, in people he has never met before." Sonique Visser.
Roy is survived by his wife Thelma of 45 years and daughters Jennie Lou Crum, Margie Jo Wilson and Mary Beth Behnen.
A memorial service was held in Arizona on April 24, 2007 and one will be scheduled at a later date in Ohio (current residence). Any donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association in his name. Another foundation he was fond of was the March of Dimes.
Condolences can be sent to Roy's youngest daughter:
Mary Beth Behnen
