Robert Glenn Ackerman of Las Vegas passed away on April 21, 2020. He was born in DeSmet, South Dakota on October 31, 1930. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Nancy, three daughters (Lynne, Jamie, Martha), one son (Scott), twelve grandchildren, four great grandchildren and sister Karen. He was a Korean War Army Veteran, after which he attended Georgetown University, UC Berkeley, STO Jakarta (Indonesia), and the British Academy of Technology. During his career, he was a revered basketball coach for the national teams of Saudi Arabia and Indonesia. He retired in 1994 as a systems design specialist for the Saudi Aramco Oil Company in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia and devoted his remaining years to his hobbies (he was a fine arts appraiser with extensive collections of oriental carpets, Chinese porcelain, Indonesian textiles and Asmat tribal art) and traveling with his wife. Bob had a quirky sense of humor, a love of music of all genres, and was a role model to his children and grandchildren.
