Robert "Bob" Manino, 80, of Wiggins, Colo., passed away peacefully on November 18, 2014, at the Platte Valley Medical Center in Brighton, Colo., following a battle with respiratory failure.

He was born April 6, 1934, in Albion, Mich., the oldest of four children to Matthew "Michael" and Waneta Manino.

In the 1970s, Bob supervised all material handling from ports of entry, customs, the unloading of ships, trucking, inventory, the foundations and steel assembly on 700 miles of transmission line and 13 substations for the Arabian American Oil Company (ARAMCO) in the eastern province of Saudi Arabia. While there, he took time off to travel to over 87 different countries. They had to add pages to his passport, as it was stamped over so many times. For over 45 years and in 28 states he supervised, coordinated and was a Chief or Lead Inspector on all phases of work on various transmission lines, substations and long haul fiber optics. He oversaw projects for the Department of Energy, Western Area Power Administration and supervised fly yards for helicopter erection for various companies. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) in the 1980's when he supervised a project for the New Jersey Department of Transportation.

In 1986 Bob met his wife and best friend Peggy Lingo, when they both worked at Miner and Miner Consulting Engineers in Greeley. They were married on February 15, 1990. Every state that Bob worked in, Peggy met him so they could do some sightseeing and explore what that state offered.

Bob's passion was hunting and fishing. He hunted moose and bear in every province of Canada, and his favorite was the caribou hunt as he watched over a half a million caribou walk right past him. His wife, Peggy accompanied him on many of his hunts in Saskatchewan, Alberta and Newfoundland. He owned a cabin on a lake in Ontario, Canada, and loved to spend time there fishing with his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife, Peggy Manino of Wiggins, Colo.; his daughters, Josette Pieniazek of Ada, Mich., Janine Manino-Smith of Rockford, Mich., and Jolana Manino of Grand Rapids, Mich.; nine grandchildren, Yulia, Dorothea, Nikolai, Devin, Shelby, Corey, Samantha, Gretchen and Myles; two great granddaughters, Lily and Olivia; nieces, Lisa, Marcia and Shawneene; and nephew, Christopher.
