Richard Grimler
For those of you not on Facebook, you may not have heard that my dad, Richard Grimler, passed away on March 24th, 2012.
Dad knew a lot of brats and some of you here on BC may have known him as well.
We came to DH in 1955 and left in 1969 when he transferred to Texaco Guatemala. He went back to Riyadh in 1986 for the last 3 years of his time with Texaco as head of Texaco Saudia.
He retired to Guatemala in 1989 (after 42 years with Texaco and ARAMCO) where the expat life was good, with his second wife and 3 daughters (my step-sisters) and dabbled in the furniture manufacturing and import/export business.
Services were last Monday here in Guatemala and it was heartening to see so many of his friends and former co-workers/employees attend, all with nothing but good things to say about him.
He left one son, 4 daughters, 6 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. To say that he will be fiercely missed by many is a vast understatement.
