Mrs. H.C. (Laura) Wideman, Jr.
Abqaiq resident Mrs. H.C. (Laura) Wideman, Jr., died last Wednesday, April 30, in Mobile, Ala., while the family was on repatriation leave.
Mrs. Wideman first arrived in Saudi Arabia in September 1957 to establish a home in Dhahran and later, with her husband's transfer, moved to Abqaiq. Residents of both communities recall her exceptional hospitality and the warm welcome that was always offered to newcomers by the Wideman household.
In addition to her husband, survivors include Mrs. Wideman's son, Robert Sharpless, now in military service in the States, and daughter Cynthia Diane Wideman, a student at the Abqaiq School.
Condolences may be sent to the family c/o Mrs. J. E. Conn, Sr., P.O. Box 143, Atmore, Ala., 36502. [Photograph]
It is so difficult to express our gratitude for all the wonderful things said and done for us during this time of sorrow. We truly appreciate everything and it has made the burden easier to carry.
Laura was a truly wonderful person and had so very many close friends both in the United States and in Saudi Arabia. Thank you so very much. Curtis and Cindy Wideman, 1133 Cotton Ave., Birmingham, Ala. 35211.
