Marilyn Elaine (Wolt) Walsh, 80 years old, of Sedro-Woolley, WA passed away July 2, 2009 peacefully at home with family members present.

Marilyn was born December 19, 1928 in Tappen, ND. She married Robert Walsh on December 31, 1951 at Camp Ruckert, AL. She graduated from The Sisters of St Joseph's School of Nursing in 1951 and later also graduated from Mary College and became Director of Nursing at St Alexius Hospital in Bismarck, ND. She returned to school at the University of North Carolina and received her master's degree as a psychiatric nurse clinician.

In 1978 Marilyn went to Saudi Arabia to become Administrator of Nursing with Aramco, returning in 1988 to live near her son and family in Washington. While in Washington she volunteered for Red Cross helping in such disasters as Hurricane Marilyn in '95, the Washington floods in '95, the Pennsylvania floods in '96, Hurricane Fran in '96, the Washington floods and storms in '96 and West Virginia floods and storms in '97. She also worked for Visiting Nurses, administering flu shots all over Skagit County.

Marilyn was preceded in death by brothers Darold (Mary) and Byron (Phyllis), father Adolf, and mother Georgia. She is survived by brother, Kenneth Wolt (Claudia), sons; Michael Walsh (Delaine), and Matthew Walsh (Vicki), daughter Maureen Wegenke (Kevin), granddaughters Katie Kelm (Josh), Whitney Walsh, Kaitlyn Walsh and Jessica Wegenke, grandsons Daniel Walsh, Nick Wegenke, Justin Wegenke and Warren Wegenke, friend & brother-in-law, Charlie Walsh, friend and sister-in-law, Mary Wolt, nieces Dana Kilanowski (Sam), Denise Marie, and Kimberly Kinney; nephews; Byron Wolt (Laurie), and Baron Wolt (Katey).

Marilyn enjoyed gardening and being with her children and grandchildren. She was very active in her church, had a great faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and lived her life as an amazing example of Christ's love. Because of her beautiful modeling of Christ's true love for all, she inspired many to know her Lord and Savior and to develop a closer relationship with him. She had a kind and loving spirit and was ready to help anyone, any time. As a great prayer warrior, she continued to tell those who visited her on her deathbed that she would be praying for them. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Memorial service for Marilyn will be Wednesday, July 8th, 4 p.m. at the Northern Peaks Christian Fellowship Church, in Sedro Woolley, WA.
