Kathryn Joan Myrtetus Gorski
(nee Myrtetus) age 70, on March 11, 2015, of Annapolis, MD died peacefully surrounded by her family after a long battle with leukemia at Johns Hopkins University Hospital, Baltimore, MD.
Kathryn is survived by her loving husband, John S. Gorski of 47 years; her daughters, Heather Robison, Christina Gorski McDermott and Regina Carolan and 6 grandchildren: Beatrice, Jack, Thomas, Elizabeth, Kathryn and Francis Baylor. She is also survived by her sisters, Mary Ellen Warren of Merchantville, NJ and Margaret Haggerty of Cherry Hill, NJ. Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Beatrice Myrtetus Brennan, her stepfather, Joseph Brennan and her brother, Joseph Myrtetus.
Kathryn was born on January 19, 1945 in Fairview, Camden, NJ. She attended Camden Catholic High School and graduated from the Philadelphia General Hospital Nursing School. Kathryn practiced as a registered nurse for many years in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and in Saudi Arabia for Saudi Aramco. Following her career with Saudi Aramco, she continued her work as a health care advocate in California and Kansas until she retired.
Kathryn lived for more than 20 years in Saudi Arabia working with Saudi Aramco. During that time, she enjoyed traveling extensively with her family across the Middle East, Asia, Europe, Africa and North America. Kathryn had many hobbies over the years, including sailing, golf, tennis and gardening. She was also an active member in the New Annapolitans Club. Kathryn was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Tuesday 8:30 to 9:45 AM in the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 642 Market St., Camden, NJ. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 AM. Interment Calvary Cemetery, Cherry Hill, NJ.
