Jim Templer Jr.
James Martin Templer, Jr. (Jim), beloved son, brother, and uncle, died unexpectedly on February 7, 2009 in Denton, TX.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Martin Templer in 2001. Loving family members who survive him are his mother, Lucy Templer of Austin, TX; his sister and brother-in-law, Jan and Gary Satterfield of Houston, TX, and their children, Tim, Kevin, Kelly and Scott; his sister and brother-in-law, Sara and Brown Howard of College Station, TX, and their children, Emma and Tyler; uncles, aunts, cousins, and numerous friends around the world.
Jim was born February 14, 1958, in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, where his parents were living and working for the Arabian American Oil Company. As a family they lived in Saudi Arabia; Beirut, Lebanon; and the Hague, the Netherlands. Jim graduated from Oregon State University in 1981 with a degree in Geology. His work as a seismic acquisition consultant included jobs in 16 different countries.
Jim enjoyed his travels and collecting artifacts to share with family and friends. He took great joy in being an uncle to his nephews and nieces, all of whom adored him and will miss him dearly.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2009, at 10:30am, at Harrell Funeral Home, 4435 Frontier Trail, Austin, TX.
