Jean Cage Hennington
Funeral services for Mrs. Jean Cage Hennington will be on Saturday, March 17, 2018, at Beauregard United Methodist Church in Wesson, MS, at 2:00 PM with burial to follow in the Beauregard Cemetery in Wesson, MS. Brookhaven Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be at Beauregard United Methodist Church on Saturday, March 17, 2018, from 12:30 PM until 2:00 PM.
Mrs. Hennington, 89, formally of Wesson, MS, passed from this life on Tuesday, March 13, 2018, at her home in Flowood, MS, with her loving husband by her side.
She was born on February 26, 1929, in Jackson, MS, to Madison Dillon and Maud Carter Cage. Jean was a graduate of Central High and Belhaven College after which she worked at Baylor University. She married Earl Wirtz and had her son, Roger Stephenson Wirtz. Earl was killed in a car wreck in 1960.
She met her husband of 57 years, Robert Edwin Hennington in Jackson, MS, and were married on October 3, 1961. Their life together took them all over the world while Robert worked for Aramco Oil in Saudi Arabia and Exxon Mobil. When Robert retired in 1992, they moved home to Beauregard, MS, and later moved to Flowood, MS, to be with their family.
She was a member of Beauregard United Methodist Church; and enjoyed reading, watching sports, and spending time with her family. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.
Preceding her in death were her parents; and husband, Earl Wirtz.
Survivors are her husband of 57 years, Robert Hennington; son, Dr. Roger Wirtz and wife Pamela Louis Wirtz of Jackson, MS; granddaughter, Rachel Wirtz Salem and husband Patrick Salem of Jackson, MS; and a host of family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Mrs. Hennington's name may be made to Beauregard United Methodist Church.
