Irene Julia Seaberg Stoltenberg September 24, 1923 - May 22, 2013 Irene Julia Seaberg Stoltenberg born Sept. 24, 1923 to David and Julia Seaberg in Cicero IL entered eternal life Wednesday May 22, 2013 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Hot Springs Village AR after entering Hospice on Friday May 17th. Irene graduated from high school in Downers Grove IL where she met her husband Donald A. Stoltenberg. They were married on Oct. 11, 1944 and shared 61 years of marriage.
Irene had the opportunity to travel the world with her husband. While Don worked for Aramco, Arabian American Oil Company. Don and Irene lived in Ras Tanura and Dhahran Saudi Arabia, Beirut Lebanon and The Hague Amsterdam. After returning to the United States, they lived at Hide-A-Way Lake near Tyler Texas. They moved to Hot Springs Village in 1992. Irene and Don loved to travel so much so that Don was a licensed small plane pilot giving them opportunities for extra travel in the USA. They were avid square dancers and enjoyed, golf, culture and the arts.
Irene's first love was her God as she lived a deep and strong faith, willing to share with others God's abiding love. Irene loved her church, Village Bible Church and her church family. She enjoyed volunteering, Bible studies, Shephard's group, Bible Study Fellowship and many other gatherings. Irene loved animals and enjoyed when people would bring their pets to visit. Her favorite place to eat was Home Plate. Irene enjoyed meeting new people.
Irene is survived by family. Niece Susan Seaberg, Nephews Charles and Andrew Harasymiw, "son" Jim Harasymiw, "daughters" Ruthi Hadsell, Rosine and husband Andrew Hermodson-Olsen, "Grandchildren" Joseph (Emily) Dalen, Teresa, Jessica, Elizabeth, Daniel Hermodson-Olsen; Elizabeth Harasymiw. Family and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Don, brother David Seaberg, niece Julianna Seaberg, her parents and a host of family and many special friends.
Arrangements were handled by Caruth Funeral Home in Hot Springs Village.
A Celebration of Irene's life in Christ was held on May 24th, 2013 at 10am at Village Bible Church, Hot Springs AR.
A Celebration of her life in Christ will be held on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at 10:30 am at Modell Funeral Home, 7710 S. Cass Ave., Darien IL 60561 followed with internment at the Clarendon Hills Cemetery and Memorial Gardens next to her beloved Donald.
