Ibrahim 'Ali Al-Mohammed
Ibrahim 'Ali Al-Mohammed, Refrigerated Liquefied Petroleum Gas Plant operator, died in the Dhahran Health Center Thursday as a result of bums sustained when Ras Tanura's LPG plant caught fire. Seven others were hospitalized and many others were treated for minor injuries during last week's fire fighting.
Ibrahim is survived by his wife and two children. He came to work for Aramco in 1954 and worked in the Oil Manufacturing division in the Ras Tanura refinery. He was selected to attend classes on refrigerated liquid petroleum operation before the start up of the Ras Tanura Refrigerated LPG plant in 1961. At the time of his fatal accident he was in training for the position of mushrif.
Ibrahim was bom in Riyadh but bought a home for his family in Rahaima under the Aramco Home Ownership Plan.
Ras Tanura's LPG fire broke out at 9 a.m., Saturday, August 4, and was finally totally extinguished at 10:45 a.m., Friday. One tank was lost, the other two have been emptied and purged with inert gas, and the LPG plant is now undergoing a clean-up and inspection of piping and structure for possible damage. [Photograph]
