Gerard J. Sivak Passed Away
Gerard J. SivakGerard J. Sivak passed away at the age of 83 on June 16, 2008. He is survived by his wife, Doris, his four children, Paul, Rob, Sharon and Cathy, eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Jerry joined Aramco in 1947 following his discharge from the Navy. He worked as an A & E Mechanic in Aramco's Aviation Department in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, from 1947 until 1949 when he was transferred to New York to work as a Flight Engineer with the crews of Aramco's aircraft. In 1960, he returned to Dhahran where he continued his work as an A & E Mechanic. His family accompanied him on this unforgettable journey, and the Sivaks made Dhahran their home for the next ten years.
Jerry retired from Aramco in 1970. Returning to New York with his family, he was hired in 1971 by Grumman Aerospace Corp. in Bethpage, New York, to work again on his beloved aircraft. He retired in 1994 at the age of 69.
Following a move to Maryland in 2000, Jerry spent his last years surrounded by his loving family and many dear friends. He will be deeply missed.
