Georgette Sladic

Georgette Sladic passed away peacefully on February 25, 2022, in Houston, Texas.

Georgette was born in Byblos, Lebanon on February 5, 1926, and raised in a small village overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. She graduated nursing school and started her nursing career at the American University of Beirut (AUB). Georgette married Matt Sladic in 1956 and moved to Saudi Arabia where they raised their family. She continued her work as a nurse at the Aramco hospital in Dhahran. Upon moving to Houston, she stayed connected to the medical field volunteering at Memorial City Hospital for over 20 years. Georgette was a member of St. Cecilia's Catholic Church where she was involved in the Women's Club and enjoyed playing bridge with old friends. She was an excellent cook and loved to prepare wonderful traditional Lebanese food for her family and friends. Her hobbies included needlepoint, knitting, and crocheting as well as gardening.

Georgette is survived by her brother George and wife Lily, her children John and wife Ligia, Susan Bettencourt and husband Senator Paul, and David and wife CiCi. She is also survived by her nine grandchildren who brought her great joy. We will miss her and her favorite phrase "God Bless You."

Friends and family are invited to visitation with the family on Thursday, March 3, 2022 at 6:00 pm with the Rosary at 7:00 pm in The Hunters Creek Chapel at Earthman Funeral Directors, 8303 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas 77024. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, March 4, 2022 at 10:30 am at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 11720 Joan of Arc Drive, Houston, Texas 77038 with the burial to follow at Memorial Oaks Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Georgette's memory to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
