Eugenia Doyle

Eugenia "Gena" Doyle, 74, passed away at her home in Plainview, Texas, on October 12, 2024. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at 1:00 PM at the Plainview Methodist Chapel with Rev. Ted Wilson, Officiating. Arrangements are under the supervision of Bartley Funeral Home of Plainview.

Gena was born on February 2, 1950, to Zane Grey and Minnie Ruth Doyle in Tucson, AZ, and moved to Houston soon thereafter.

Gena graduated from Spring Branch High School in Houston where she was a member of the debate team. Gena attained her bachelor's degree in theater arts from Southwestern University.

Gena provided administrative support for Aramco and was a technical procedure writer for several energy companies in Houston. She was a Child Protective Services case worker in Waco where she rescued children from the Branch Davidian compound during the siege.

Gena was actively engaged in the Rotary Club and Texas Extension Education Association where she was voted Woman of the Year. She was active in United Methodist Women. She was also a member of the United Methodist Church.

Gena was preceded in death by her parents, Zane Grey Doyle and Minnie Ruth Doyle Kincaid, and her stepfather, Thomas Kincaid.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sister, Susie and husband, Charles Starnes of Plainview, TX, her brothers, Zane Grey Doyle of Spring, TX, and Harold Kincaid and wife Kieran of Cypress, TX, nephew Chuck Starnes of Plainview, and nieces Emily Charleton of Jacksonville, FL, Andrea Geiger of Portland, OR, and Kathryn Johnson of Royce City, TX, plus numerous cousins. Most precious to Gena were her grand nephews Griffin Geiger, Graham Johnson, and Niale Johnson, and grand niece Fiona Geiger.
