Dale Carl Peterson of Fayetteville, GA, 60, passed away on October 8, 2010. He worked in Aramco Aviation from 1977 to 1979 in Dhahran and his wife Lynette taught at Dhahran Junior High.

Dale was born in Minneapolis, MN on November 7, 1949. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Lynette (Thompson), two brothers, Dr. Reece Peterson (Barbara) of Lincoln, NE, Curt Peterson of Brainerd, MN, nephew Leif Peterson (Cara) and great niece Avery of Kansas City, KS, and niece Jarren Peterson of Minneapolis. Dale was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Doris (Schiebe) Peterson.

Dale retired from Northwest Airlines in 2008 as an A320 captain. He logged 29,000 hours on numerous aircraft. Dale was a member of the Dixie Wing of the Commemorative Air Force, ALPA (Air Line Pilots Assoc.), AOPA (Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association), Civil Air Patrol (CAP) and the Minnesota Seaplane Pilots' Assoc. In 2002 Dale received the Gift of Life, a kidney, from his brother Curt.

A Memorial Service will be held at Fayette Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dr. Alex Moses officiating on Wednesday, October 13 at 11:00 a.m.

Visitation will be at Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, on Tuesday, October 12 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. A service will also be held at a later date in Minneapolis.

Memorials may be made to Fayette Presbyterian Church or Southwest Christian Hospice.
