Charles Roger "Chuck" Wheeler was born on September 9, 1930 in Bellevue, Pennsylvania as Charles Bigley Miller. He died Friday, Feb. 3, 2012, in Fredericksburg. Chuck sang and played drums while in high school. As a Junior, he placed second in the state in baritone voice. After high school, Chuck enlisted in the Marines and then the Air Force. He was stationed in the Philippines during the Korean War. Chuck married Lois Kathryn Houck in 1952. The couple had two daughters and lived in Pittsburgh and then Houston. Chuck was employed by a number of engineering and oil firms, such as Fluor Construction & Engineering and ARAMCO. From 1974 through 1994, he worked and lived in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. Chuck continued to sing, was active in church, and loved to travel. He is survived by his daughters, Rhonda L. Wheeler of Fredericksburg, TX, and Doreen L. Wheeler of Pflugerville, TX; grandchildren, Ashley Lynn Smith and Clayton Andrew Smith; half siblings Dorothy Wheeler McClelland and Chester Wheeler; and several half nieces and half nephews.  A visitation and brief prayer service will be held at Weed-Corley Feb. 12. Fish Funeral Home, 3125 N. Lamar Blvd, Austin, TX on Sunday, A graveside service will be held at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio, TX at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 14.
