Bill J. McConnell
Aramco Deputy Comptroller Bill J. McConnell died on Oct. 4 in Los Angeles, Calif.
With the exception of a one-year rotational assignment in Aramco's New York Comptroller's Office, all of Mr. McConnell's 28 years of service were spent in Dhahran.
Mr. McConnell joined the Comptroller's Organization in 1948 after receiving his degree in Finance and Accounting from the University of Denver. He progressed through a variety of assignments including such positions as cost accountant, accounting analyst, Ledger Unit supervisor, Financial Accounting supervisor, coordinator of Analytical and Budget, and chief accountant.
In 1968 he was elected an assistant comptroller and in April of this year he was elected deputy comptroller.
During his Aramco career, Mr. McConnell also served in relief assignments as manager of Compensation and Benefits, comptroller, and treasurer. [Photograph]
