Betty Lou Pake Gosfield Davis, 83, of Fayetteville died July 28, 2014 in Fayetteville. She was born in Chicago, IL on August 27, 1930 and grew up in Prairie du Chien, WI. She graduated from Prairie du Chien High School and went on to the University of Wisconsin, then moved back to Chicago and attended the Chicago Conservatory of Music. In 1951 she married Francis Gosfield and as his job took him from city to city, she attended Wayne State University in Detroit, Washington University in St. Louis, and finally graduated from New York University with a degree in Geology. In 1963 she took a job with ARAMCO in Saudi Arabia, working in the Exploration Department. She did a lot of traveling in the Middle East and her favorite adventure was camping in the caves at Petra, Jordan. She met her second husband, Robert H. Davis, in Dhahran, and they married and lived in Beirut until 1971. At that point they retired to a farm south of Goshen. In 1980 she went back to school at the University of Arkansas and became a Registered Nurse. Betty was interested in amateur astronomy, gourmet cooking, gardening, and volunteered as a CASA, and with the Mental Health Association in NW Arkansas. After she was widowed, she took cruises that took her to many places in the world.Her first husband, Frank Gosfield, her second husband Robert H. Davis, and her sister Marilyn Sutton (Lorenzo) predeceased Betty. A brother, Charles Pake of Prairie du Chien, WI.; brother-in-law, Lorenzo Sutton of Prairie du Chien, WI.; three nephews, Jon (Rockville, MD.), Scott (Prairie du Chien, WI.) and Kevin (Hudson, WI.) Sutton survive her.
