Arthur A. Bobb, Jr.
Our Dad left this world at peace and with a smile on his face. All three of his sons were with him during his final days. He is now in a better place.
(L-R: Alan, Fred, Andrew.)
It is with a very heavy heart that we can let everyone in our Aramco Family know that our beloved dear father Dr. Arthur A. Bobb, Jr. passed away last Wednesday morning at 11 am. in Stuart, Florida just 5 weeks short of his 98th birthday.
Our dad had a wonderful life and career. He was a graduate of Princeton University and Temple Medical School with a specialty in Ophthalmology and cataract eye surgery.
He enjoyed private practices in Reading, Pennsylvania, and Vancouver, Washington before embarking on a 20-year career with The Aramco Medical Services Organization. Dad retired in 1984.
Dad was most proud of his three sons and two granddaughters, Sydney and Sara.
He loved chatting about his many travel adventures which included all 50 United States, over 110 foreign countries, and a three-month round-the-world freighter trip. Dad was an avid cruiser having obtained Platinum status with Carnival, Elite with Celebrity, and Diamond with Royal Caribbean. That was a lot of cruise points!
From the Sun & Flare - December 15, 1971. Dad at work with The Harvard Medical School Trachoma Vaccine Research Project in Abqaiq, Saudi Arabia.
He was a Captain in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War as a flight surgeon and was selected to attend an Honor Flight for all veterans to Washington, DC. several years ago. Dad always talked fondly of that experience during his final years with us.
Dad was predeceased by his brother Donald and his sister Alice.
He leaves many friends that he made during his four years at Discovery Village Assisted Living Facility.
Dad will be terribly missed by us all.
Sadly submitted by his three sons:
- Fred Bobb, 3rd (Dh. '72)
- Andrew Bobb (Dh. '74)
- Alan Bobb (Dh. '76)
