Ambrose Otto Schmitz

Ambrose Otto Schmitz, who resided in New Blaine, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at his home. He was born on December 18, 1952, in Paris, Arkansas, to the late Anthony Matt Schmitz and Bertha Louise (Rietkze) Schmitz. He was 70 years old. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 31 years, Mary (Atchison) Schmitz; three brothers, Leonard, Andy and Justin; and two sisters, Agnes Hess and Sister Cabrini Schmitz.

Ambrose was a retired drilling specialist with Aramco. He enjoyed his dog Izzie, watching sports, and being outdoors.

A "Celebration of Life" where friends and family are invited to share memories of Ambrose will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 14th at Brotherton Funeral Home Chapel in Paris. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Paris.

He is survived by his children, a daughter, Wanda Vaughan and husband Tim of Paris, a son, Glenn Schmitz and wife Bianca of Moseley, Virginia, a daughter, Barbara Brantley and husband Ray of Spring, Texas, a son, Vincent Scott and wife Ladonna of Booneville, and a daughter, Leah Scott of Charleston; his grandchildren, Jackie and Anthony Vaughan, Saydra, Wyatt, and Ayden Schmitz, Hunter and Kendra Scott, and Langston Gack; four brothers, Lawrence of Kentucky, Cletus of Kansas City, Denis of Broken Bow, and Ray of Texas; a sister, Mary Ann of Tulsa; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family asked donations be made to your local animal shelter.
