This article is an invitation to the Aramco Expat global community to visit two parts of the Southern Indian City of Hyderabad in the state of Telangana:

  • Hyderabad is an historical city also known as the Pearl City of India which consists of an old area (old city) and a new area.
  • Hyderabad is a hub of Information Technology and is also called Cyberabad which comes under the HITEC area (Hyderabad Information Technology and Engineering Consultancy City or HITEC City).

A magnificent event by “ISTD (Indian Society of Training and Development) Hyderabad Chapter L & D awards” took place on June 3, 2023 at T-HUB 2.0 in HITEC City:

T-Hub (Technology Hub) is an innovation intermediary and business incubator. I attended the event being a Life Member of the ISTD:

The Learning and Development awards ceremony started with Hi-Tea and concluded with a grand networking dinner.

Though the chapter has been in existence for the last 35 years, the awards have been introduced this year for the first time.

The proceedings took place as per the attached schedule.

As per the announcement, all applicants were given participation certificates while the winners were awarded with special plaques.

Winners were selected on the basis of various different criteria.

Two-panel discussions took place, one of the topics was that in the “Information Technology sector 50% of manpower is women, still gender equality is not seen in Top Management”. The audience proposed several suggestions to improve this situation.

The old city is known for several Historical monuments, the following two are very popular:

  1. Charminar was built in the year 1591
  2. Hyderabad High Court was built in the year 1919
