Generation 3 comprises a global initiative to build on the achievements of the partnership to date, and leverage cutting-edge technologies to deliver real-world impact and inspire the next generation.
The Aston Martin Aramco Formula One® Team and Aramco share the belief that solving some of the biggest technological and engineering challenges of today can be achieved through collaboration and engineering excellence.
A key goal of Generation 3 will be to drive progress in global mobility through technical advancements on-track. This new era of the partnership also strives to prepare and inspire the next generation of STEM leaders to tackle these challenges for years to come.
Across three pillars, Generation 3 aims to find innovative solutions that push on track performance, while delivering social impact off it:
- Social value: Inspiring the next generation through STEM education and opportunities. This will include the launch of a new Generation 3 STEM scholarship programme in 2025, and will build on current STEM karting initiatives delivered by Aston Martin Aramco drivers and engineers.
- Technological innovation: Focused on the materials and fuel innovations borne out of the partnership. This will come to life on-track with Aramco due to deliver advanced fuels to Aston Martin Aramco under the new FIA regulations in 2026.
- Technology transfer: Leveraging F1 innovation to drive real-world applications, with a focus on driving tangible impact across the transportation sector and beyond.
To celebrate the Generation 3 launch, Texas-raised Aston Martin Aramco development driver Jak Crawford performed a demo run on recently in Houston. Crawford drove the AMR22 F1 car featuring a special Generation 3 livery exclusively for the launch.
The city is home to one of Aramco’s largest upstream research and development centres and Aramco Americas' headquarters, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. The demo run took place at five different locations across the city, concluding with the car on display at an ESG-led event with local STEM students in the ION district.
The partnership will also run additional Generation 3 branding across the AMR24, driver suits, and garage at this weekend’s U.S. Grand Prix.
“As a team we have always been proud to use our platform for good, both on and off the track. This initiative provides the opportunity for us to build on our achievements to date and take the next step forward in our journey with Aramco as our title partner.”
— Mike Krack, team principal, Aston Martin Aramco Formula One® Team
“The collaboration will see us continue to inspire the next generation through STEM education and opportunities, while leveraging technological innovation as we look ahead to the new FIA regulations in 2026,” added Krack. “I’m excited to see the initiative unfold as we push the boundaries of what is possible together.”
Khalid A. Al Zamil, vice president of Aramco Public Affairs, said that since joining forces in 2022, “our dynamic partnership with Aston Martin Aramco Formula One® Team has harnessed a shared commitment to engineering excellence and innovation, with the potential to deliver winning results both on and off the track.
“Generation 3 takes our partnership to the next level.”
