TWO STARS of the Abqaiq swimming team helped set the victory pace last week when they met and defeated their Najmah rivals in inter-school competition. Patty McFatridge, left, took top spot in the girls springboard diving; Lindsay Fogelquist, center, set a new record in the girls' butterfly event. At right is diving coach Rita Frankos.

The Dhahran Pool was where the action was last Wednesday as a revitalized Abqaiq swim team swamped their Najmah rivals, 59-41, and at the same time broke three Dhahran Pool junior high records.

Abqaiq's Mary Kay Cain won an impressive first in the girls freestyle with her record-breaking time of 0:37.85 seconds, then topped the record books again with a 0:47.9 win the backstroke.

Teammate Lindsay Fogelquist's 0:56.9 time in the butterfly altered the records for the third time, breaking the time of 0:59.4 set by Dhahran's Mary Clevenger the week before.

Najmah's team came on strong in both the firsts and boy medley races, and Karen Hartley and Kurt Cleaver won firsts in breastroke and backstroke, respectively, but from then on, it was Abqaiq's day in the winners circle.
