William P. 'Bill' Chretien

William P. "Bill" Chretien, age 68, of St. Augustine, passed away peacefully on March 28, 2016, at the McGraw Center in Jacksonville. He was born in Lawrence, Massachusetts, and grew up in Lebanon, New Hampshire, where he was a 1965 graduate of Lebanon High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in Turkey after the Korean War. Bill later trained as an electrical engineer, and he worked in the oil industry for Aramco in Saudi Arabia for many years. After becoming certified as a Master Diver, Bill enjoyed owning and operating a dive shop in Clearwater, Florida. Most recently, Bill worked as a production manager for NCP Solutions in Jacksonville. He moved from Jacksonville Beach to St. Johns County in 2001 and was a member of the Elks Lodge 829 and the American Legion Post 37 of St. Augustine. Bill was of the Catholic faith. Above all, he was a devoted husband, father, son and brother, and he will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his wife, Marie G. Chretien; daughters, Rebecca (Stephen), and Jennifer; sons, Michael (Cathi), Scott and Troy (Leslie); his brother, Bob; his "Holland" mother, Jenny, and his "Holland" sisters, Monique and Arlene.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 5, 2016, at St. Johns Family Funeral Home, with the Rev. Kiran Medipalli officiating. Interment at Jacksonville National Cemetery will follow at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to Community Hospice of NE Florida, 4266 Sunbeam Road, Jacksonville, FL 32257.
