Viola Virginia Lundy
Graveside services will be on Wednesday, July 18, 2018, at 10 a.m. for Viola Virginia Lundy who died July 10, 2018 at her home in Tucson, Arizona.
Interment will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Oklahoma City so she may rest beside her husband Lance C. “Bill” Lundy.
Virginia was born September 23, 1928 in Choctaw, Oklahoma. She graduated from Choctaw High School in 1946. As a senior, her basketball team won the state championship, making the winning shot in the championship game.
She married Bill Lundy on October 20, 1946. They lived in Midwest City until he went to work for the Arabian American Oil Company in Saudi Arabia. They lived there for 15 years until his death in 1970. Upon returning to the states, she moved to Tucson, Arizona. She became active in her church and volunteered for the Tucson Medical Center Auxiliary. During her time there, she worked as manager for the Chaplain’s office of the hospital. She was an avid basketball fan of U of A Wildcats.
Virginia often talked of her time overseas and the many places she got to visit. She loved the travel and the number of friends she had from so many different places.
She is survived by her children Darrell Lundy, Cindy Simpson and Jeffrey Lundy; 6 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to Tucson Medical Center Auxiliary in her name.
