Thomas C. Barger
Thomas C. Barger, former president and chief executive officer of the Arabian American Oil Company, died of Parkinson's disease June 30, 1986 in San Diego.
He was 77 years old.
Mr. Barger, a geologist, was associated with the company from 1937 to 1969. Initially he helped explore for oil in Saudi Arabia, where it was found in 1938. He spent the years of World War II exploring and mapping the empty quarter of Saudi Arabia and later became the company's manager of government relations. He was president of Aramco from 1960 to 1969, when he retired.
He was born in Minneapolis and graduated in 1930 from the University of North Dakota, where he later became a professor of engineering.
