Ms. Sarah Anne Gdula of Newark, DE, passed away on Saturday, September 3, 2011, at Christiana Hospital in Newark, DE from complications resulting from an epileptic seizure.

Born in Dickinson, ND, on November 23, 1981, Sarah was schooled in Colorado, Wyoming, California, Dhahran, Saudi Arabia ('95 - '97) and Mercersburg Academy ('97 - '00) in Mercersburg, Pennsylvania. A graduate ('07) of Eastern Michigan University, she majored in Theater and Japanese. She made her career in the banking industry and was employed as a senior fraud analyst for Bank of America for the past 3 years. She was active in supporting both the National Epilepsy Foundation and the Epilepsy Foundation of Delaware.
Sarah was well known throughout her life for her vivacious personality, winning smile, and spirited laugh. Her outgoing manner also led to her interest in the stage and she became a gifted actress; in earlier years, she loved performing in university and local theater troupes. She also enjoyed listening to all types of music, traveling, and, most especially, spending time with her family and many good friends.
She is survived by her parents, Vaughn E. Gdula and Charlotte D'Amour Gdula of Cody, WY; hers sisters, Robyn Gdula Lalime (Chris) of Okinawa, Japan, and Lindsey Gdula of Groton, NY.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Sarah may be made to the National Epilepsy Foundation.
