Robert Walter Hintermaier Sr.
Robert Walter Hintermaier Senior was born in Passaic, NJ March 27, 1944 to John C. Hintermaier & Anita H. Hintermaier and passed away May 8, 2019 in San Antonio, Texas. He grew up in Wynantskill, NY. The beloved husband, father and friend was the problem solver, the fixer, the engineer. He considered any opportunity presented a chance for growth. He treasured his family and enjoyed reading, singing barbershop harmony, teaching refugee children, participating in church activities, and was always on call for his family. He was a captain in the US Army and served from 1965-1972 in various parts of the U.S., and in Germany, Vietnam and Thailand.
Bob earned a BS in Physics and a Masters in Petroleum Engineering. He worked for Exxon from 1973 to 1992 and for Aramco from 1992 to 2002. He and his family lived in Abqaiq from 1976 to1980 and he and Mary lived in Dhahran from 1992 to 2002. Bob was very grateful for the chance to travel and the opportunity to share the lives and experiences of people from all over the world. What marvelous opportunities! He is survived by his loving wife Mary Hintermaier, a brother, son Robert Jr (Anita), daughter Mary Virginia (Ginny) , son Timothy (Vicky), grandchildren Sarah, Zack, Becka, Josh and Megan and two great grandchildren. He is greatly missed.
