Robert McFatridge
Our beloved, Mac passed away on July 27, 2023 at the Department of Veterans Affair in Topeka, KS. He was 98 years young.
He was born May 16, 1925 in Comanche, Oklahoma to Robert Lee and Christine Coffey – McFatridge. He served during World War II as an auto mechanic and a rifle expert under General Patton. He received a Good Conduct Medal and the Philippine Liberation Medal. He then made his way over to Saudi Arabia to work for Halliburton then retired with ARAMCO. Mac met the love of his life, Reva Colhouer and she was his entire world for 30 long years. They settled first in Oklahoma and then laid roots down in Topeka, KS where she then passed in 2018. Mac kept her name alive and loved her till his last breath.
Mac, also known as Papa Mac was the most attentive, compassionate, hard-working, humble, loving, polite and all-around, genuine man. He was a proud father, husband and papa to all he loved. Not only was he a grandpa, he was a friend to many. He had the most calm presence that you rarely saw his feathers ruffled. He lived everyday thankful with out any complaints. He was wise, supportive and nonjudgmental. He put his best foot forward and always did things with love. Mac had the best heart we have ever known.
Mac was a devoted veteran and wore it proudly (on his war world II hat). He was a dedicated Christian and loved the Lord. Mac touched the lives of so many people. He will truly be missed and will never, ever, be forgotten.
Survivors include his daughter Patricia Mcfatridge Mohr, Debra Anderson, Janice Baker, and Pamela Colhouer, and his brother Bill McFatridge. He is also survived by many grandkids and great-grandkids that love him dearly.
Rest in peace Mac, you are now with your love and your savior.
I love you daddy, Mac, Grandpa, Papa Mac.
We miss you!
