Robert Charles Varney
Bob passed at the age of 73, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Although our hearts are heavy, our minds are at rest knowing he is at peace in the arms of our Lord.
Born in Detroit, MI to Carl and Annabelle Varney, Bob leaves a legacy across the US and beyond. Throughout a distinguished career he impacted countless projects and lives. He started with Giffels & Rossetti in Detroit, MI., and in 1970, managed construction of Mesa Community Hospital in Phoenix, AZ. He then led the Engineering Department for University Mechanical of San Diego, CA. Soon thereafter he was named COO of JWP International leading to a position in Guam, USA overseeing all international projects throughout the Pacific region. Bob retired from JWP's Portland, OR facility in 2000. Bob was an active member of many organizations, including ASHRAE and Kiwanis.
His son, Steven, preceded him in death as did his parents. Bob is survived by his wife Regina Zolnoski Varney, three sons, two daughters, their mother Amy Varney Swanson and two stepsons; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; his brother Jim, sister Pat, and their children and grandchildren.
