Robert A. 'Bob' Behn

Robert A. Bob Behn, age 85 of Vidor, passed away on Friday, August 7, 2015 in Beaumont, Texas after a long fight with cancer. Bob was born in Los Angeles, California on July 11, 1930, to the late Albert William Behn and Lenora Marie Schmaljohn Behn. A graduate of South Park High School, he attended Lamar Junior College and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Texas - Austin. Having worked two different times with ARAMCO in Saudi Arabia, Bob retired from Mobil Oil after 40 years of service as a chemical engineer. Bob and Madie also found joy in working for the YMCA of the Rockies after his retirement from Mobil. Preceded in death by his parents and a twin brother, Gene Behn, he is survived by his wife of 61 years, Madie A. Behn; five children: Linka Ann Behn of Denton, TX, Robert A. Behn, Jr. of Midlothian, TX, Chuck Behn and his wife Susan of Grapevine, TX, Audine Rathbun and her husband Walt of Vidor, TX, and Kelly Behn and his wife Ellen of Vidor, TX; one sister: Gloria Reho of Beaumont, TX; as well as fourteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren with another on the way. Services will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Terry Wright officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
