PAUL R. CLARK, SR., 81, A RESIDENT OF SACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA, AND A FORMER RESIDENT OF LOWELL, DIED FRIDAY, APRIL 22, 2011, AT HIS HOME.

Born in Lowell on September 16, 1929, he was a son of the late Thomas E. Clark, Sr. and Anna (Roane) Clark. Paul was a graduate of The Immaculate Conception School and Keith Academy in Lowell. He went on to earn a degree in Engineering from Northeastern University in Boston.

In 1952, Paul joined ARAMCO (Arabian/American Oil Company) in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia serving as the company's Vice President. In 1956, Paul was in The Hague working as a project engineer for a six year term. He would ultimately spend more than 30 years with ARAMCO before retiring to California.

Paul had a passion for National Politics and was always a wealth of information in this area. He held Theatre close to his heart, having directed and acted in several plays while in Saudi Arabia and in California.

Survivors include a son, Paul R. Clark, Jr. of New Haven, Connecticut; two daughters, Annemeike Clark and her husband, Ziad Assad of Sacramento, CA, with whom he made his home, Nicole Clark and her husband, Steven Tulchin of Pleasantville, New York; two grandsons, Jay and Charles Tulchin of Pleasantville, NY; a brother, Francis L. Clark and his wife, Theresa of Lowell; a sister, Margaret E. Sullivan of Dracut; many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

He was the brother of the late Thomas E. Clark, Jr., and former husband of the late Francisca (Karels) Clark.
