Pauline June Ogle Hill

Pauline June Ogle Hill, 90, of Cookson, OK passed away February 13, 2014. Her memorial service will be at Gore United Methodist Church in Gore, OK, March 8, at 1:00 pm with the Reverend Len McCarty officiating. Pauline was born July 10, 1923, to Chester and Pearl Ogle in Boynton, OK. After attending school in Haskell, then moving to Sand Springs where she graduated, Pauline attended Phillips University in Enid, majoring in business and music. Pauline married Robert Hill on June 14,1946, at First Christian Church in Sand Springs, OK. As a Methodist minister's wife, she played organ and piano for church services in Porum, Muskogee, Vian, Gore, and Duncan. In 1968 they moved to La Paz, Bolivia, serving La Paz Community Church for four years. After spending seven years with the ARAMCO Protestant Fellowship Group in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, they returned stateside and again pastored Gore United Methodist Church. Pauline and Robert celebrated almost sixty-five years of marriage before Robert's death in 2011. Pauline's final days were in the family's home, "The Blessing," on Lake Tenkiller. She is survived by her children, Dr. David Hill and wife, Megan, of Southwest City, MO; Kathye Osborne and husband, Stan, of Lubbock, TX; and Martha Carter and husband, Jack, of Branson, MO. Survivors also include her sister, Dr. Nancy Ogle, of Broken Arrow; a brother, Dr. Charles Ogle and sister-in-law, Ann, of Enid; and sister-in-law, Susan Ogle, of Olive. Pauline's brother, Chester A. Ogle, preceded her in death. She is survived by seven grandchildren; Jessica and Lauren Hill, Benjamin and Kevin Osborne, Katelyn Osborne Leake, Matthew Carter, and Rachel Carter Land; and five great-grandchildren, Candice and Caleb Carter and Jayce, Rylan, and Riggs Land.
