Annuitant Paul Cyr passed away on July 11, 2011.

Paul Cyr joined Aramco in 1950 as an accountant in Materials Supply. He and his family resided in Ras Tanura until 1956 and then on to Dhahran until 1971. He returned to Aramco as a consultant in 1980, ending his career there in 1983. He and his wife Rhea moved to The Valley (Sun Lakes, Tempe, Mesa and Scottsdale), Arizona where their daughters also settled.

Paul was a renowned athlete. He won numerous championships playing baseball/softball, bowling, and golf in leagues sponsored by Aramco. He won 5 Inter-district and Quad Area All Star Bowling Tournaments, the last one in February 1981 at 59 years old with a 195 average.

The Cyr family had quite a history with Aramco. His father-in-law, Russel Walker arrived in November 1947, transferring from SOCAL, followed by wife Lillian and son Jon in Octoh45 1948. Russel, badge 4692, retired in 1958.

Paul's elder daughter, Wendy worked in ASC in Houston in March 1977, then moved to Dhahran in July 1977 and remained there until May 1983.

His son-in-law Robert Allen, daughter Janice and their son, Paul joined Aramco in Dhahran in August 1979. Paul was the first 4th generation to arrive in Kingdom. Bob retired in Dec. 2000.

Paul is survived by his two daughters, Wendy Cyr and Janice Allen. His wife, Rhea Walker Cyr, preceded him in death on October 18, 2009.
