Natalie F. Katibah
Natalie F. Katibah passed away on May 23, 2016 of natural causes. She was 89. Born in Roxbury, N.Y. in July 1926, she was the daughter of Maurice H. Fanning and Edna Louise Gross. She attended Syracuse University and it was there she met George P. Katibah. The two were married on Natalie's graduation day on May 30, 1947. The couple eventually settled in Sacramento where they raised their two sons. In 1970 Natalie began a 10-year stint teaching at Williamson School in Rancho Cordova where she touched many students with her consistency and attention to detail. After George retired from the State of California Dept. of Transportation (Caltrans) in 1980, the two moved to Saudi Arabia where George did consulting work for Arabian American Oil Company (ARAMCO). While there, Natalie taught English as a second language to ARAMCO employees. George and Natalie used this as a base for their extensive world travels, and their tales and slide shows kept family and friends entertained for hours. Natalie was an intelligent and loving mother who clearly let her sons know right from wrong. An excellent cook who was ahead of her time, she insisted on using fresh and wholesome ingredients. Her pies were second to none. She is survived by her sons Edwin and Robert Katibah, daughters-in-law Susan and Sharell, niece Christine Draffin, and grandchildren George, Alexis, Julia, Danny, and Anna. The family would like to extend their special appreciation to the staff of Elim Care (Jennifer, Farah, Rita, Maricris, and Ping) and to Dr. Scott Wigginton. The care they gave Natalie will never be forgotten. Contributions in Natalie's memory can be made to Audubon Canyon Ranch, 4900 Shoreline Highway 1, Stinson Beach, CA 94970 or your favorite charity.
