Nabil Akkad a well loved and active Aramco community member and Udhailiyah school arabic teacher for over 25 years passed away October 15, 2007 in Udhailiyah, Saudi Arabia. Nabil will be fondly remembered as a positive, energetic, gentle and thoughtful person who brought great joy to those who knew him.
Nabil arrived in Saudi Arabia in 1974, working for the Industrial Training Center department until 1976, and then transferred to Saudi Aramco Schools until 1993. He returned to the Kingdom in June 1998, and worked for Saudi Aramco Schools at both Ras Tanura School and Udhailiyah School until his death.
Nabil was involved in Udhailiyah with the SAEA, Theater Group, Photography Club and the monthly newsletter for the Dhahran Outing Group. One of Nabil's greatest joys was helping others. He could always be counted on for any kind of assistance and was especially helpful with computer technology. He took pleasure in keeping abreast with the latest technology and loved electronic gadgets. He enjoyed cooking. He was a global citizen and loved traveling around the world. His passion for photography made him the un-official camp photographer for Udhailiyah. He enjoyed the fine arts, music and theater
He is survived by a sister, Nada Akkad.
He was well-respected, and will be deeply missed by his family, friends and colleagues. Condolences are offered to the loved ones he left behind.
